Cat Pillow

While we liked how comfy this white throw pillow was, we thought it was a bit plain, so we decided to spice it up a bit with this super easy fix. After all, everything’s cuter with whiskers!

Before we started, we chose buttons and laid materials on the pillow so we could get a rough idea of what it would look like. When we found a layout we liked, we started with the pink nose; that way we would have a nice center point to work from. It didn’t take long to sew on the pink button, so we quickly moved on to the eyes. We love the way the blue pops against the white fabric, but you can choose buttons of whatever color you like.

After all the buttons were securely in place, we started on the whiskers. We kept it simple with six straight lines of black yarn, and we think the finished product is a cute addition to our home décor. What do you think? Would you ever try something like this? If you do, send us a picture by posting it on our Facebook wall or tweeting with the hashtag #DailyFancies.

A great way to use buttons that are special to you. I embroidered a frog on a pillow so that I could use two green buttons from my Dad’s uniform. Every time I look at the pillow I think of my Dad!

My kitty, a Norwegian Forest Cat, has a lovely medium long fur coat. But he wasn’t given much in the way of beautiful long whiskers. So this cute pillow would make up for his lack of the whiskers. It is easy to make, and would fit in almost anywhere.
However, he just can’t make it through the day without his alloted amount of Classic Fancy Feast. His favorite flavor is the Chicken. Thank you for the great cat food.

Very cute, but The Whiskers ( which I like a lot) are the right size while the eyes & nose need to be larger!! Maybe a triangular button for the larger nose. And, how about a cut to shape, pink felt tongue too? Then, the proportions would be correct!

I am completely unable to sew anything worthy of being worn or displayed
BUT this I think I can make. What a clever and easy way to “create” a work of art. Thank you.
